What I don't get is how the Eagles and the Elves in the sky-ship things beat the dragons in the War of Wrath. They even defeated Ancalagon the Black! What is your theory?
I think that it wasn't just the eagles and the elves that saved the day, even though history tells us so. The other good guys helped out a lot as well.

The Eagles are quite powerful, but the Dragons are just so much stronger. Dragons also have impenetrable scales covering their bodies while the eagles just have feathers. I can not think of anything that could give them the upper hand, but the eagles are not something that I am a master of lore about.

Tolkien wikia says that the could have mabby riped his wings off causing him to fall to the ground killing him. Even though this would also be extremely difficult!
Most of them but some not. Here is a list of all the diferent kind of dragons.
Urulóki (Urulokë, Fire-drakes) - Fire-breathing dragons. Cold-drake - Dragons who could not breathe fire. Wingless dragons - Dragon with no wings that walked on four legs. Winged dragons - Dragons that had four legs but also had wings enabling them to fly. Wyrms - dragons with no legs and no wings (but sometimes used as a general term for all dragons) Rhunic Dragons- dragons with no wings, long bodies, and large horns. They lived in the Eastern land of Rhun.
Of corse I would as well. I would have a silver one. And Illuvatar I got it from lotr.wikia.com. And I am confitant that their information is correct because Why would they posed somthing totaly wrong like that.

Ya they do. I think that is what they are suposed to be. Except chines dragons can fly with out wings. J.R.R. Tolkien's Rhunic Dragons can not fly because they have no wings.
