Well it woudl depend on what time peried they are both in. Like sam after the war of the ring vs. Gollum with the ring. Gollum would win.

Gollum didn't seem to be that powerful with the ring other then the fact that he could turn invisible.

Yeah I agree. First of all Sam usually has a weapon so it would be an easy fight. But if it was fist to fist then I still believe Samwise would win. He has weight on him, and Gollum is kinda in bad shape to even be fast.
