from what I read in the book it seems that merry and pippin were treated fairly well for example the uruk-hai gave them there energy drink

Just to keep them alive. It is like you are a slave. They made them run for miles and miles and gave them not much to drink and eat, they were not good to them, they were mearly keeping them alive. And I love that chapter because you get to see merry and pippin day by day with the Uruks, it is really interesting and cool!

in the chapter tolkien had named it the orc liquir that was kinda creepy thinking about what kind of meat that the orcs gave them
