Well I decided to post on this topic because no one has posted on Numenor yet. I want to tell you guys what Numenor was. Numenor was a greatly large island in the western ocean of Arda. It was the place inbetween Aman and Middle-earth. The Valar, or Eru (this is still not know for they sad the gods gave it to them, so either the Valar or Eru) created this island and gave it to men as a gift. The dunidane and other kinda elvish men were called Numinorians, and lived on that island. The people of Numenor were sea people. Often sailing between Middle-earth and Numenor. The Valar forbid them from sailing to Aman. But if they walked up to the tallest peak in Numenor you could see part of Valinor, a small island just off the cost of Valinor. Because the Numenorian's were sea people, they latter had desighns of segal wings on the helmets. For example the helmets of men in the last alince. Or the helmets of the soldiers of Gondor. Sauron soon came to the island and sad they would be importal and have ever lasting life if they worshiped Morgoth, and so they did. They even built monuments of him. The Numenorians were angery with the Valar for not leting them into Aman, so they lanched an attack on the Valar. The men of Numenor were surley unmached in power other then the Valar of corse. The men lost of corse and Orome told Eru what they tried to do. So he sank the island of Numenor. Killing everyone on it. But those that stayed faithful to Eru and the Valar, were saved and moved to Middle-earth, and soon started the kingdooms of men, like Minas Tirith. When the island sunk Sauron was on it. He was hurt from the sinking of the island and so he could never use his ability to charm others with forms again. Like he did with the Elvish smiths so they would forge him the rings of power. The Numenorians put palantirs in all the main strong holds of Middle-earth so they could comunicate. This is pretty much the main imformation on Numenor. I thought you guys would want to know.
