The other day Asmodeus told me that he could probably think of a scientific explanation for many things in Arda. I asked him about Balrogs and he said something about them excreting flammable gas or something, haha. So, the purpose of this topic is to ask him for explanations of various things in Arda.

dragons swallow flint witch is common in the mountain and store it in a special pouch for later use. when they breath fire its actually a burp the gases in its stomach are highly flammable and they use the flint in the pouch to light the gas

Ya I have hered many diferent reasons for how dragons breath fire lol. Like they have a peace of metel in there mouth and it can create a spark and then light the posion in the dragons mouth.
So I have changed over the years haha. I love this topic over a lot of the ones we have talked about thus far. I rather enjoy looking into the scientific aspects of this story. Seeing as I am much more knowledgeable about science now. I can also further my search on this topic. So moving on, what are your hypotheses and explanations for magic. En example would be Gandalf's magic, any ideas?
